When the OEM needed a facelift and couldn't get one.

A global OEM needed a front-end facelift for their vehicle but their platform partner declined to assist. EGR stepped in as a design and engineering consultancy, taking the project from blank brief to production-delivered components.

The Challenge

A facelift with no platform partner willing to help.

A global OEM needed a front-end facelift for their pickup. Their platform partner — the manufacturer responsible for the base vehicle — declined to assist. The OEM was left without a path forward through conventional channels.

EGR was engaged not as a supplier of accessories, but as a full design and engineering consultancy. The brief was effectively blank: take the vehicle as it exists and deliver a complete front-end facelift, from concept through to production-ready components.

The result was a three-year supply programme where vehicles arrived from Thailand into Australian ports, and EGR's front-end assemblies were fitted as part of the port localisation process before vehicles entered the Australian market.

Our Approach

Design consultancy. Not just a manufacturer.

EGR's role on this programme was unusual: the OEM did not have internal engineering resources or a platform partner willing to develop the facelift. EGR operated as the design authority, taking ownership of aesthetic direction, engineering, validation and supply.

Port localisation

Vehicles arrived from Thailand into Australian ports. EGR's front-end assemblies were fitted as part of port localisation before vehicles entered the market — a supply chain arrangement that ran for approximately three years.
